He knows those who trust in Him. Nahum 1:7

The word of God in Psalms 73:1: “Truly God is good.”
The lie of the enemy: “Isn’t God trying to keep you away from fun? Isn’t God trying to hold something back from you?”

Psalm 73:1: “Truly God is good.”

Doesn’t the enemy of God creep up beside you at a time of weakness and whisper in your ear, “Obviously in all your trouble, God does not care.”

But the “law of the LORD is perfect restoring the soul;”(Ps. 19:7) and
“Truly God is good.”

The battle rages, the storm winds blow.
GIRD UP your thoughts, think straight, think truth.

Tucked away in the very short book written by the Prophet Nahum in the Bible, are some very powerful words. They are words we need to ‘gird up’ in our mind:

Nahum 1:7, “The LORD is good. A stronghold in the day of trouble;”

Jesus even told us, “In this world you will have trouble,”(John 17:33).
Everyone has trouble. Job had tremendous trouble and he said, “As sure as sparks from a fire fly upward, man is born for trouble.”(Job 5:7).

But Nahum 1:7 reminds us that, “The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble. And He knows those who trust in Him.”

God knows.
Didn’t Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego get thrown into the fire? Most certainly they did! These men trusted God completely. These men committed their lives to God, they would not bow down to an idol, they were a witness to God – yet, they were thrown into the fire!

But very few people have actually had a personal visit from Jesus. These three men did. (Dan. 3:24),”Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.” “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the fourth is like the Son of God.”

Nahum 1:7 is the ‘testimony of the LORD that is sure, making wise the simple,’ as stated in Ps. 19. “The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble. And He knows those who trust in Him.”

So, DON’T PANIC! (This is for me, the faint-hearted!)

Peter uses that ‘gird up’ expression as well, (1 Peter 1:13)
“Therefore gird up the loins of your mind,
be sober,
and rest your hope
upon the grace that is to be brought to you
at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

Jesus reveals Himself in the fire.
The LORD is good, when trouble comes, He is the place for us to run, and He knows all who trust in Him, yes, He knows all who trust in Him. So rejoice, and be glad, because you know,
He knows.
