“Come Thou Fount of every blessing, tune my heart…”

“Tune my heart Lord, tune my heart to sing Thy grace…”

See God's Hand

The words of a familiar hymn have spoke renewal and refreshment to me, “Come Thou fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing Thy grace…”

This makes me think of picking up my guitar and noticing it’s not quite right. So I immediately start to put it in ‘tune’.  Just like in my own life, I can see all the areas in my thought life and attitudes where I am ‘off tune’ and so desperately need my Master Player to intervene.

But how beautifully this hymn reminds me where the tuning takes place. It’s at His communion table. Yes, the fount that covers me, that has washed away my sin. It is almost too good to be true to think that my Father in heaven sees me…
